Dark Woods Foundation
The Dark Woods Foundation is a UK registered charity (no. 1208146). We promote and support community and environmental projects in the Kirklees area of West Yorkshire and internationally, primarily within coffee producing countries.
Our Approach
We believe the most powerful solutions come from within communities themselves. As such we put ourselves in a supporting role; we’re here to provide resources where possible, and give guidance to aid local leaders in creating lasting change.
Problems we focus on
Community Isolation
Many communities in Kirklees lack the resources and connections needed to thrive. We fund projects that bring people together, create shared spaces, and strengthen social bonds.
Environmental Challenges
Local environmental issues affect community wellbeing. We support projects that protect and enhance the natural environment while bringing communities together around shared goals.
Global Farming Inequality
Coffee farmers and rural communities worldwide face significant challenges. We aim to raise awareness about these issues and help people make informed choices that support sustainable farming.
Limited Community Resources
Many valuable community initiatives lack funding and support. We provide grants and guidance to help local leaders turn their visions into reality.
